Entries required for Kiveton Contest

Wood be competitors are asked to enter the Kiveton Brass Festival — deep in the lovely forestry of South Yorkshire...

 

The Yorkshire & Humberside Brass Band Association has invited bands to participate in the 3rd Kiveton Brass Festival taking place at Kiveton Community Woodland, South Yorkshire on Sunday, 17th July.

The event which takes place close to Junction 31 of M1 motorway, will be limited to 12 entrants and is open to all 3rd/4th Section, Youth and Unregistered bands.

Format

The entertainment programme format will see bands play for no more than 20 minutes.

Pre draw

The contest is pre-drawn to allow bands to plan their day and will commence at 11.00am with bands playing in an open fronted marquee situated in a natural amphitheatre.

The event which takes place close to Junction 31 of M1 motorway, will be limited to 12 entrants and is open to all 3rd/4th Section, Youth and Unregistered bands.

The YHBBA is running this contest in partnership with the Forestry Commission who reclaimed this land which was once the site of Kiveton Park Colliery, and who encourage community involvement on the site.
