2011 French Open

The lovely Loire Valley will play host to the French Open once again.

The 17th French Open Championships will take place in the lovely Loire Valley setting of Amboise in May.

Popular event

The popular event continues to attract bands from all around Europe to enjoy the unique atmosphere and contesting environment, which this year takes place between the 20th & 22nd of May.

Full programme

A full programme of contest and concert events is lined up with the Championship Section bands having to tackle Philip Sparke’s ‘The Year of the Dragon’ as their set work.

Second Division competitors will be faced with Eric Ball’s ‘Resurgam’, which seems to be rising again and again more frequently than a British submarine off the coast of Libya4BR

Submarine

The First Division bands will have to overcome ‘The Essence of Time’ by Peter Graham, whilst the Second Division competitors will be faced with Eric Ball’s ‘Resurgam’, which seems to be rising again and again more frequently than a British submarine off the coast of Libya.

The Third Division bands will also find a familiar score to tackle in Philip Wilby’s ‘A Little Light Music’, whilst the joint Fourth/Youth Section will get to perform Philip Sparke’s popular ‘A Malvern Suite’.

Further details

Philip is also one of the jury members, alongside David Horsfield, Pascal Eicher, Chris Jeans and Denis Wilby.
