Citizen Jane

Jane Stubbs is to be made Citizen of the Year for her work with Lions Youth Band.

Lions Youth Brass has announced that their popular and hard working Chairperson, Jane Stubbs, has been awarded ‘The Citizen of the Year’ Award, from the local Sandbach Rotary Club.

Dedicated

This award goes to someone who has dedicated their time to helping others within the local community over a significant period of time.

Jane has been the chairperson of Lions Youth Brass since 1999, although her association with the band began in 1992 when her youngest daughter Amanda joined the beginners section and later became a part of the bands 1995 National Championship winning band.

Leading youth bands

Since then Jane has dedicated her life to the development of Lions Youth to make it into one of the country’s leading youth organisations, organising concerts, tours abroad, recordings and also fostering the bands work within the local community.

This is just reward for Jane, who has shown great leadership, organisational skills and tremendous enthusiasm over many yearsMD, Nigel Birch

Great respect

The bands Musical Director Nigel Birch told 4BR: "This is just reward for Jane, who has shown great leadership, organisational skills and tremendous enthusiasm over many years.

All at Lions Youth Brass have great respect for her and are very proud that she is receiving this award."
