Many of the brass band movement's biggest stars are getting together on 9th April to lend a helping hand to various worthwhile projects in Zambia, through Brass Band Aid.

Brass for Africa

The event, entitled 'Brass for Africa 2 — A Musical Spectacular', again features the Brass Band Aid Celebrity Band (conducted by Dr Stephen Cobb), an all-star band comprising many of the biggest names from across the UK and Europe, from bands such as Black Dyke, Cory, Foden’s and Tredegar.

This will be the fifth time the band has come together.

Soloists

Also starring will be guest soloists: Chris Thomas (trombone), David Thornton (euphonium), Glyn Williams (euphonium), Helen Williams (flugel horn), Katrina Marzella (baritone), Owen Farr (tenor horn) and Steve Sykes (tuba) as well as vocal soloist, former BBC Young Choirgirl of the Year, Lucy Rhodes.

Masterclass

The event will be held at The Salvation Army in Kettering, and the day will kick off with a brass masterclass from euphonium star David Thornton.

This is open to players of all instruments, ages and abilities. David will also be presenting a short recital at the end.

The evening concert will commence at 7.30pm.
