The 2011 Welsh Open Entertainment Contest was televised on the Welsh language channel S4C last Saturday, in a one hour programme from the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl.
Excerpts from each of the competing band’s performances were featured as well as interviews in both English and Welsh, visits to competing bands pre contest rehearsals, and informative historical contributions about the brass band scene in Wales and the importance of the mining industry to it over the years.
Former Black Dyke cornet star Cai Isfryn provided the expert analysis of the bands performances, whilst the producers employed no less than five cameras to imaginatively capture the action on stage4BR
