The Reg Vardy Band is gearing up for its latest CD recording of music by the influential Salvation Army composer Sir Dean Goffin.
Proceeds
The proceeds of the CD will go towards the Clarence Adoo Trust, and will contain some of the New Zealander’s greatest works, such as Goffin's such as ‘My Strength, My Tower’ and ‘Rhapsody in Brass’,.
The CD recording is the brainchild of conductor John Ward, who will direct Reg Vardy on the project.

Laura Jackson from Reg Vardy told 4BR: "We have thoroughly enjoyed the preparation for the CD and have discovered some new pieces we have recently included in our concert repertoire.

Soloist
The band will record the CD in their Stanley base this weekend and will be joined by Richard Martin of the Northern Sinfonia, who is the guest soloist on the release.
Welcome
The band also wish to extend a warm welcome to ex principal cornet Michael Lumsden, who makes a guest appearance for the recording, and bass player Dan Knott, who joins on Bb Bass.
Dan joins after a short spell with Fishburn Band and was previously a committed member of the Felling Band.
