BFBB offer Pontins help

The British Federation of Brass Bands is offering help over Pontins payouts.

BFBB

The British Federation of Brass Bands (BFBB) has stepped in to offer help and advice to bands following the news that not a single band at the 2010 Pontins Championships in Prestatyn has yet to receive any prize money.

Contact

The BFBB told 4BR: "We understand that some of the winning bands from the Pontins Festival have not received their prize money for the event. BFBB would like to help bands if possible and we encourage them to send details of their claims by email to: natoffice@bfbb.co.uk for the attention of Carole Salter."

Loss

They added: "It is disappointing that Pontins have gone into administration. Not only do we look like losing one of our major contests, but of course, many of the winning bands will be disappointed not to have received their prize money."

Administrators

The spokesman continued: "However, in the first instance it is the bands’ responsibility to contact the administrators with their claims."

These should be sent to: Pontins in Administration, c/o KPMG, Restructuring, St. James’ Square, Manchester, M2 6DS, for the attention of Lee Abbott, Tel: 0161 2464 957.
