Australian Besson Euphonium Artist Matthew van Emmerik flies this week to Washington D.C. for the United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Conference.
New Commission
While at the Conference Matthew will be performing a one-hour all Australian solo recital featuring works by Percy Code, Helen Johnston, Mike Fitzpatrick and Brenton Broadstock.
One of the highlights of this recital will be a new commission by Brenton Broadstock, which features accompaniment by a chamber winds ensemble.
Matthew will also be involved in low brass warm-up sessions, individual lessons, master classes and performing a concerto in the final concert with the world renowned United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”.
