Derwent's night of charity

Derwent Brass has been busy raising Christmas charity funds.

Derwent

Derwent Brass continued their series of charity Christmas concerts with their annual event at the Landau Forte College in Derby.

Chosen charity

This year’s chosen charity was the Derbyshire Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, whilst the band’s musical guests for the evening was the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir.

Despite the inclement weather a good sized audience enjoyed an evening of fine music making as the band and choir came together for a number of items. For many the highlight was the sympathetic performance of ‘O Holy Night’ by Derwent’s solo baritone player Adrian Drewitt.

Donation

Not only did the event raise charitable funds but the band was also able to present a donation to Evie Hall from the Ripley & Heanor District Explorer Scout Unit.

Evie and other members of her scout unit helped to sell programmes and band merchandise at the recent band concert with the Treorchy Male Voice choir.
