"At times the performance and work ethic of the band and the enthusiastic audience reaction reminded me of my days at Cory," was the praise recently heaped upon STORM Brass by legendary band conductor Denzil Stephens after their recent concert to support two African charities.
African support
The band committed themselves to support the Seed Sowers Charitable Trust and the Gambia Fellowship Trust to raise £400 to further their work in Africa.
Chairman Mike Ansell of the Seed Sowers Trust applauded the excellent performance and the involvement of the band and described to the audience how the charities were enabling clean water to be supplied at a number of sites.
Amongst the variety of items performed, highlights included, ‘Music for the Royal Fireworks’, as well as James Curnow’s ‘A Psalm of Praise’ and Alan Fernies recent arrangement of ‘Baggy Trousers’!
