Youthful ambition at Foss Dyke

Black Dyke is not the only band with plenty of ambitious youth in the ranks.

Foss Dyke

Black Dyke is not the only band with plenty of talented youth in the ranks it seems, as the young stars at Foss Dyke from Lincoln are looking forward to performing at the 2011 areas.

Youthful arrivals

The majority of the recent arrivals are under the age of 18, and for many, next year’s competition will be one of their earliest contesting experiences.

The band are confident that after their busy concert calendar this Christmas they can work together to make an immediate impression on the 2011 contest season.

I watched the band contest last year and couldn't wait to be a part of it, so I am really excited to be competing in the areas next yearEvan Key

Really excited

Newly appointed solo horn player, 17 year old Evan Key told 4BR: "I watched the band contest last year and couldn't wait to be a part of it, so I am really excited to be competing in the areas next year. Everybody at Foss Dyke is really friendly and I am really enjoying myself — I definitely want to get stuck into Le Carnaval Romain."
