Death of James Anderson

The death of the respected Salvation Army composer has been announced.

Scottish born Salvationist composer James Anderson has passed on Thursday 28th October in Dallas, Texas following a brave fight against cancer.

Goldcrest

Best known in secular brass band circles as the composer of the march, ‘Goldcrest’, he was a highly respected Salvation Army Officer, conductor and composer.

He retired last May after six years as the Divisional Music Director for the National Capital and Virginia Division and Bandmaster of the National Capital Band.

He leaves a wife, Christina and children Esther, Lois and Tim.
