In 1970 the North Powys Youth Band (formerly the Montgomeryshire County Youth Band) held its first Day Course at Newtown High School under the direction of Eric Jones.

40 years later

40 years later, and with many happy memories of concerts, tours and plenty of fine music making, the current band is looking to celebrate the fact by holding a reunion concert next month, and is looking for as many 'old' members of the band to enjoy the occassion with them too.

The Friends of the North Powys Youth Band are therefore inviting all past and present members to the special event. The concert will be followed by a reception to which all are invited, and where friends can meet up again and discuss their experiences and see some of the band memorabilia that has been collected.
