As reported on 4BR, the national 'Bandstand Marathon' will take place on Sunday September 26th 2010, at 70 locations around the country.

Bandstands across the country will showcase music making in various formats as part of the build up to the Cultural Olympiad in 2012.

Unique British venues

The Bandstand Marathon marathon will hopefully play to thousands between 2.00pm — 4.00 pm and bring back into use that uniquely quirky and often beautiful British venue — the bandstand, hundreds of which have been quiet for decades.
