Galashiels set for exciting future

There are exciting times in store for the Scottish band with a history going back to 1834.

Galashiels Town Band is starting to enjoy better times, with the appointment of a new MD in Stuart Black.

The history of the Scottish band goes back as far as 1834, and they have endured some lean periods of late.

However that has now changed as Stuart told 4BR: "The band has a very strong history and I'm delighted to be part of the plans to develop an exciting future."

Debut

The former flugel player and student at Salford University will make his debut with the band at the forthcoming Borders Festival of Brass at the end of the month.
