The Thoresby Colliery Youth Band enjoyed a great 10th anniversary weekend recently with a concert in their home village of Edwinstowe.

With guest soloists including Stan Lippeatt back with his flugel horn, Mark Walters and Michael Dodd, the audience was thrilled by some great playing from one and all.

The concert ended a day in which the band had spent working with Michael Dodd in band and masterclass sessions.

Masterclasses

The weekend started with a party for the current band and past players and during the evening awards were presented to Matthew Hollingworth, Kay Fritchley, Luke Hallewell, Matthew Hollingworth and
Sharon Owen, who was presented with the Graham Thomas Award in memory of one of the band's great servants.
