Foden’s Band will give the end of competition concert at the Royal Albert Hall National Final on 9th October.
Prelude
The concert prelude to the Awards Ceremony will be conducted by Allan Withington and feature the band’s principal euphonium, Glyn Williams, as well as tenor horn soloist, Lesley Howie.
Cross genre
The programme will comprise cross-genre works selected from several larger concert programmes by Allan Withington and Dr. Robin Dewhurst — part of an ongoing series of creative projects in which they have collaborated.
Foden’s will open with ‘Innuendo’ arranged by Dr Peter Meechan, which won the ‘Best New Arrangement’ award at the 2008 Brass in Concert Championship, before presenting his ‘Triptych’ (on a Theme by Handel) featuring Lesley Howie.
