London contenders set for judgement

An innovative approach to the pre contest run out will see three of London's Harrogate bands provide Frank Renton and the audience with plenty to enjoy..

A joint concert/pre contest adjudication run through, featuring three of London & Southern Counties qualifiers for Harrogate is set to take place this Sunday.

Innovative

The innovative event at the Connaught Leisure, Aldershot will start at 1.00pm, and will see London & Southern Counties First Section winners Friary Guildford, Third Section champion, Fulham Brass and Fourth Section runner up LGB Brass, each playing a short programme to include their respective Harrogate test piece.

Adjudication

Frank Renton, will be in attendance to adjudicate each performance, and interval entertainment will be provided by youth band players.

Friary Guildford's Tim Straker told 4BR: "It’s an innovative way to hear and support some of the best bands from the region who should be at the top of their game in readiness for Harrogate."

"There is free admission for those aged 18 and under and there are refreshments too, whilst adult tickets are just £3.00 and £5.00."
