Simon Gresswell joins Foden's to add extra weight to formidable bass end foundations.

Brass in Concert champion Foden's has announced the signing of Simon Gresswell on Bb tuba, from Brighouse & Rastrick.

Speaking to 4BR Foden's Chairman John Barber said: "We are extremely pleased to sign Simon, who is regarded as one of the leading Bb tuba players in the country, and his addition is a great boost to the band. I would also like to thank Andrew Warriner who has been providing cover until a full time replacement could be found."

Foden's have also announced that Eb tuba Stewart Baglin has been promoted to the principal role, with Les Neish making a welcomed return to the band as his new deputy for the British Open.

French connection

John also informed 4BR that on returning from their summer break, Foden's will fly to France to give a concert in Limoges, France as guests of their new partner's 'Besson'.

"We are looking forward to our forthcoming trip which will be the first in a number of concerts and projects that the band will be hosting in partnership with Besson Musical Instruments."

Tintwistle Band

April 28 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a Soprano and front row cornet players to help complete our team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
