New President at Jackfield

There is a new President in office at Jackfield Reisen Band as they get ready for their regular Swiss trip.

Jackfield Elcock Reisen Band has announced the appointment of Martin Brookes MBE as their new President.

30 years

Martin has been associated with the band for many years during which time he has been a great and loyal supporter comparing all but one of their annual Christmas Concert's over last 30 years.

Meanwhile, the band is making final preparations for their fifth visit to the Mellingen Band in Switzerland as part of their 150th Anniversary celebrations.

The bands ties with the Swiss band were initially forged when Mellingen cornet player, Thomas Hitz came to work in Telford. Since then the bands have retained close ties, regularly visiting each other over the intervening years.
