The East Yorkshire Motor Services Band has announced that Neil Day has returned to the band as principal cornet.
New players
After an enjoyable stint at Black Dyke, Neil returns to take up his former position, as the band look to sign a number of new players over the coming weeks.
The band has taken the opportunity to thank former principal cornet player Steve Rudhall who flew back from New Zealand to play at the Area Championships in Darlington earlier this year – a demonstration of his lasting regard for the band – something shown by his performance on the day.
Impressing
Meanwhile, repiano player Kirsty Fox played in the ‘end chair’ at the Blackpool Spring Festival this year, impressing players and audiences alike.
Neil’s first concert back will be leading the band in their 21st anniversary concert at the University of Hull in September.
