STORM set to brew with Sykes and Buckley

Steve Sykes and C Brian Buckley set to team up with STORM Brass later this year.

STORM Brass has announced that the experienced conducting duo of Steve Sykes and C. Brian Buckley have been engaged to take the band to the forthcoming Exmouth Band Festival and 64th Annual SWBBA Championships respectively.

First silverware

The band was delighted recently to have picked up their first silverware after only nine months in existence when they secured the runner up place at the West of England Contest at Bugle in June.

This followed a successful prior outing in the combined Championship/1st Section of Weston contest in May when the band as placed 4th.

Eager

Ken added: "With our increasing success and joint highest ranking in Devon, the band continues to establish its-self and we are eagerly looking forward to the coming contest season and working with these two masters of brass band training."

Tintwistle Band

September 14 • . We currently have a vacancy for a 2nd horn player, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled! . We are a second section band, and rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle.

September 13 • Required: An Assistant Principal Cornet. A rare opportunity exists to join our Solo cornet bench and fill this crucial seat. We are an ambitious and friendly 1st section band who rehearse in our own bandroom in Chinnor on Wednesday evenings.


Tintwistle Band

September 12 • We are looking for a repiano cornet player to help complete the team.. We are a second section band and rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, performing a variety of concerts all year round.
