Greater Gwent ready for greater Welsh exposure

The Greater Gwent Youth Band has been gaining plenty of musical exposure of late, with more to come under the baton of Dr Robert Childs.

Following their well received performance at their annual ‘Summer Showcase’ in St David’s Hall, Cardiff, the Greater Gwent Youth Brass Band recently traveled to Birmingham to perform at the National Festival of Music for Youth in Symphony Hall.

Quality

Under the direction of conductors Andrew Jones and Dr Robert Childs, their performances at both events highlighted the quality of the current band with music mentors, Eric Tebbett and Keith Hewson at Birmingham stating that they produced playing that was, 'stunning, magical, scintillating, slick, compelling, spine-tingling and an awesome conclusion!'

For their quality performance, the band received an award sponsored by Allianz Musical Insurance.

The band is now looking forward to performing at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Ebbw Vale4BR
