Mutual parting of the waves for Seaman

After 13 years at the helm, Nigel Seaman and the Markham & District Band have decided to part company by mutual consent.

Markham

The Markham & District Band and conductor Nigel Seaman have released a joint statement to say that they have parted company by mutual consent.

Increasing demands

Nigel had been the bands principal conductor and MD for the past 13 years and leaves primarily due to his increasing demands as a professional musician, with recent adjudicating appointments and with him accepting the opportunity to conduct Tongwynlais Band at the forthcoming British Open and National Brass Band Championships.

The band has thanked Nigel sincerely for his work over past years and have wished him good luck and best wishes for the future.

Reciprocated

Nigel has also reciprocated, wishing the band well for the future especially with their return to the Championship Section in 2011. He also hopes to be able to work with Markham again in the future.

The band will be making a further statement in the near future to announce their new Musical Director.
