Main signings at Carlton

Carlton Main Frickley announce a quartet of new signings ahead of British Open.

Crlton

Carlton Main Frickley Colliery has announced four new signings as they start their preparations for the British Open and National Finals.

Welcome back

The band welcome back Roy Batty and Paul Davies to the bass section, bringing a wealth of experience having played for the Grimethorpe for many years.

Paul is replacing Ben Dixon, who after several years playing with Carlton, is moving to Manchester to study at Salford University. Due to traveling issues, Ben has reluctantly had to relinquish his position with the band.

We are delighted with the new signings that have brought added strength to key areas within the bandCarlton Main Frickley

Return

The band would also like to welcome back former Brighouse and Grimethorpe player Sam Fisher. Sam rejoins on flugel, having previously taken time out last year to spend time with his family after the birth of his son. Finally, Ben Matthews, a first year student at Huddersfield University comes in on percussion.

Delighted

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "The band would like to wish Ben every success at University and with his playing in the future. We are delighted with the new signings that have brought added strength to key areas within the band."

They added: "We are now looking forward to preparing for the British Open and National Finals."
