One of Norway’s leading brass musicians has been appointed as the new resident conductor of one of its leading bands.
Three years
Euphonium player Tormod Flaten has been appointed to the role with Krohnengen, and will work with the band’s principal conductor Gary Peterson for the next three years.
Band Chairman Fredrik Schmidt Fotland told 4BR: "Over a number of years Tormod has built himself up to be an international musician.
With his experience and musical know-how and we are confident that he is just the right person to further develop the band together with Gary."

Thanks
At the same time the band thanked Selmer Simonsen for the splendid job he undertook during the past year.
Fredrik Schmidt Fotland added: "Equally, we wish to stay in a good relationship with Selmer and are looking into possibilities of inviting him back as guest conductor, and to co-operate with some of his other bands."
