New look for Valley Brass

Things are on the up and up — and on the interweb too for Valley Brass.

Valley Brass

Valley Brass Band is going from strength to strength if the launch of the their new website is anything to go by.

Membership up

After a slight dip recently, the band's membership is on the rise, and there are now around 100 members who are spread across five school bands, a youth band and a senior ensemble.

Finances up

Finances are looking up too as the organisation just received £10,000 from 'Awards for All' to set up a games room for their members.

This relaxation spot will include televisions, pool tables, IT and games equipment and will be based at their bandroom in the Richard Evans Centre (no relation to Tricky Dicky) in Blackbrook.

the players and volunteers have worked hard to turn things around. Nobody likes to see a brass band struggle or fold, so it is to the benefit of all, that Valley are still going strongKeith Deakin

New website

A new website is also a feature of this rejuvenation and is well worth gander at: http://valleybrassband.webplus.net/index.html

Keith Deakin told 4BR: " It's been a difficult time for the band, but the players and volunteers have worked hard to turn things around. Nobody likes to see a brass band struggle or fold, so it is to the benefit of all, that Valley are still going strong."
