The Wingates Band is teaming up with their friends from across the Atlantic Ocean next weekend as they play hosts to the Natural State Band from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Performances

The American band is in the UK for a short tour, taking in all the sights — including a short performance at the English National Championship in Preston this weekend.

Bandroom tour

As part of their stay with the band, MD Rusty Morris and the players will visit the historic Wingates bandroom in Westhoughton, where Wingates’ collection of memorabilia covering more than a century of top flight banding is on permanent display.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra bass trombonist is the Natural State Brass Band’s Associate Conductor and will be their featured soloist on their tour4BR

Concert hosts

In addition they will also be performing with other bands on tour, and Wingates will host them on the 2nd July in a concert that will feature the extrordinary talents of Doug Yeo.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra bass trombonist is the Natural State Brass Band’s Associate Conductor and will be their featured soloist on their tour.

Doug is well known to brass lovers across the world as a soloist and clinician, and this concert is a rare opportunity to hear him perform with a brass band in the UK.

Three for two

As the concert is taking place on a World Cup night the band is offering a 'three for two' on tickets, so if you are interested and want to get away from the football, then contact David Kaye on 07967 166003 or email andrew@rhinodiary.com
