Thoresby Colliery Band has announced that they will be hosting friends from across the Atlantic Ocean next month when they team up with the visiting Natural State Brass Band from Arkansas, for a concert in their home town of Mansfield.

Joining them for the occassion will be renowned bass trombonist Douglas Yeo.

Thoresby Colliery came to the aid of the band after a concert with the UK’s favourite charity band, the all girl 'Boobs & Brass' had to be cancelled.

Richard Walker told 4BR: "Thoresby is delighted to have the opportunity to step into the breach and the hastily arranged concert is now in full organizational swing. All is not lost however, as a selection of the ladies will be on hand, to raise the awareness of Breast Cancer Research on the day."
