As part of the Foden's innovative 'partnership' agreement with Cheshire East, a new 'Cheshire East Schools Music Competition' will be held at Congleton Town Hall next month.
Celebration
The celebration competition, on July 10th, will begin at 7.30pm with three schools each performing a 10-minute programme of music.
The three schools taking part are Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School Jazz Band, Sandbach High School (Girls) School Choir and Sandbach School (Boys) Big Band.
Award winning percussionist Simone Rebello will judge the event and cast her critical eye over proceedings in the first half of the evening and adjudicate on each performance.
Solo opportunity
Foden’s will then provide an opportunity in the second half of the proceedings to feature individual musicians from the three schools, who will perform solos with the band.
Certificates will be awarded to all three participating schools at the end of the evening and each school’s music department will also receive £500. The competition winner will be awarded the inaugural 'Cheshire East Schools Music Trophy'.
