Want to be a record breaker?

If you want to be part of a world record attempt as the world's largest orchetra, then this could be just the thing for you...

An attempt to become the world's largest orchestra is being staged later this year by Hold It Down Productions, who are hoping to gather together over 7,000 musicians at the LG Arena in Birmingham on Sunday 24th October.

Special work

Under the baton of Charles Hazlewood they will perform a specially commissioned piece of music lasting twelve minutes, which is being written for them by Tom Bassett, a recent graduate from Birmingham Conservatoire.

The instrumentation for the orchestra has been specifically written to include as many variants as possible openingProject Manager David Hale

Variants

Project Manager David Hale: "The instrumentation for the orchestra has been specifically written to include as many variants as possible opening up the event to as many musicians to create the most spectacular performance ever seen and heard."

All musicians are also asked to raise their own individual sponsorship in order to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
