Dream comes true

One man's dream will come true in Manchester courtesy of Black Dyke later this month.

A fund raising concert in aid of Christie Hospital in Manchester, will guarantee that one man's dream will come true on Friday 18th June.

Peter Kelly sang with the Rossendale Male Voice Choir for over 20 years before his death from cancer in 2006.

Peter's dream was to perform at one of the country's most prestigious concert venues, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, to raise money for the hospital and to perform with the band he held in such high esteem — Black Dyke4BR

Dream

Peter's dream was to perform at one of the country's most prestigious concert venues, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, to raise money for the hospital and to perform with the band he held in such high esteem — Black Dyke.

And although Peter won't be there, that dream will now be realised when Black Dyke join forces with Rossendale and Rossendale Ladies Choir to perform popular brass and choral music at Bridgewater Hall.

Busy weekend

The concert commences a busy weekend for the National Champion.

The following day they'll participate in the RNCM's 'Brass Focus Day' which includes a lunchtime concert with Smithills School followed by a number of their principal players leading masterclasses.

That evening they will be performing a Summer Prom with Halifax Choral Society and a week later will defend their English National title in Preston.
