VBS Poynton Band has announced that Mark Snowden has stepped down from the soprano seat after a successful 2 years tenure. Mark is having a break from playing to concentrate on his new job as head of music at a Salford school.
Mark is to be replaced by Adrian Horn, who made his debut in the sop chair at the band’s recent concert.
Changes
Other changes see percussionist Craig Harper take a hard earned break, to spend a little more time with his young family.
Band spokesperson David Johnson told 4BR: "Both players have given so much to the band and we are very sad to see them go, but we hope that they will not vanish completely and will still pop back every so often to catch up with all of their friends in the bandroom."
American hosts
The band is now looking forward to hosting the Natural State Brass Band from Arkansas, USA, during their tour to the UK. The two bands will be performing a joint concert in Poynton on Monday 28th June.
