11 year Chralotte Lewis is fast becoming one of the star cornet players of Wales it seems, after the youngster scooped two awards in just about as many days at the 2010 Urdd Eisteddfod and the Gwent Youth Brass Solo & Quartet Contest in Newport.

The Urdd is the young persons version of the National Eisteddfod of Wales and sees talented musicians take part in competitions from all over the Principality.

Charlotte, who recently won a major schools young musican prize in the Rhondda competed in the 11 years and under slow melody category at the Gwent competition.
