City of Oxford Silver Band recently played played in their city centre as part of the celebrations of the town twinning between Oxford and Bonn in Germany.

Conductor Rob Fleming opened the concert with the ‘City of Oxford Silver Band March’ which was written for the band while they were on tour in Germany in the 1970s.
Oldest band
Oxfordshire's oldest brass band, were asked to play by the City Council for the twinning celebrations to further enhance their commitment to their civic duties, which over the years have included the Lord Mayors Parade and Remebrance Sunday. Two years ago, the band renovated its band hall in Temple Cowley, and the Mayor at the time, opened the new hall for them.
