There was a decent turn out of bands at the Weston Super Mare contest on the weekend, where the honours in the top section were taken by Rogerstone.
Fancy
Their performance of ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’ took the fancy of adjudicator Peter Bassano, to give then victory over London & Southern Counties visitors Milton Keynes and third placed Bedworth Brass.
Lower Sections
In the Second Section Cinderford’s performance of ‘Pageantry’ by Herbert Howells saw then take the honours ahead of Blaeanavon Town and Forest of Dean, whilst in the Third Section it was Daventry Brass playing ‘Music for a Festival’ that came out on top ahead of Bream Silver and Avonbank.
In the Fourth Section victory went to Totnes Town with their performance of ‘Saint-Seans Variations’, ahead of Malvern Hills and Abertillery and District Youth.
