The Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band has announced the appointment of David Nesbitt as their full-time Musical Director.

Working relationship

Over the last few months David has directed the ‘Imps’ in several concerts and contests and has built a firm working relationship with the band.

The ‘Imps’ management team approached David some weeks ago with regards to a more permanent position and he delightfully accepted.

Partnership

As a tuba player David has played solo engagements across the globe and was a member of Black Dyke, Grimethorpe, YBS and CWS Glasgow as well as being in great demand as a player with orchestral outfits including Opera North, Royal Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia and Northern Ballet.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Both David and the band look forward to building on the already solid partnership that has been forged."
