New head of EBBA Music Commission

Scotland's Alan Edmond becomes new head of EBBA's influential Music Commission.

The European Brass Band Association has announced the appointment of two new members to their Executive Committee.

Joining EBBA

The popular Berit Palmquist of Sweden, and the respected Alan Edmond of Scotland, both become members of the EBBA Executive Committee. Alan also becomes President of the influential EBBA Music Commission. Both are elected for a four year term.

Ulf Rosenberg, EBBA President, told 4BR: "We have got two new, very competent and enthusiastic people joining the EBBA team, and I am looking forward to working with them."

Respected

Meanwhile, Alan, who is highly respected in the UK through his work as the Scottish Brass Band Association Development Officer, told 4BR: "It is a great honour for me to be elected as President of the EBBA Music Commission."

He added: "The next four years are going to be very busy, culminating with the European Championships in Perth 2014. I look forward to meeting with the other members of the Music Commission next month in Rotterdam and, subsequently, working with them to develop the Music Commission into a forward thinking and progressive body that will benefit the entire European brass band community."
