Trombone soloist Stephen Sykes will be making his first appearance in Lithuania this weekend.

Gala perfromance

The former BBC Young Brass Musican of the Year and the current principal trombonist of Tredegar Band will be performing as guest soloist with the Lithuanian Army Band at the Gala Concert of the National Brass Band Championships in Panavesis on Saturday evening.

Stephen will be performing the Rimsky Korsakov 'Concerto for Trombone' followed by 'Basta' by Folke Rabe and later in the evening will entertain the audience showing a much lighter side of the trombone with some jazz arrangements from the pen of Jiggs Whigham.

Masterclasses

Whilst visiting Lithuania Stephen will also present masterclasses for local brass musicians and schools.
