On the 12th & 13th June, a father and son team from Coleshill Town Band will be hiking across Dartmoor to raise funds for their band and 'Help For Heroes'.

Dartmoor

Simon Toon (percussionist and ex Royal Navy) and Brandon Toon (euphonium and potential Royal Marine) will be setting off on a section of the Abbots Way that runs from Buckfast Abbey to Princetown (Dartmoor Prison) right in the centre of Dartmoor.

That’s a total distance of approximately 28 miles over 2 days across rugged moorland terrain carrying everything they need with them — tents, food, clothing, sleeping bags and all necessary equipment.

The estimation is that they are likely to be carrying about 40lbs of kit each.
