Thornbury Castle Band recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a sell out concert.

The local Armstrong Hall rang to the sound of the band and their guests, Dursley Male Voice Choir with a variety of music ranging from the traditional 'March of the Cobblers' to an arrangement of Christine Aguilera’s 'Candyman'.

There was a full and appreciative audience and at the start of the second half the local Mayor presented awards to Peter Barnes as youngest player, John Whallett as a life long member and Alice Bodiley for all hard work in her 10 years as the previous conductor of the band.
Great hit
MD Geraint Barnes told 4BR: "The concert was a huge success, and the band played to the biggest audience in its history. I'm very proud of everyone. It's been a great hit."
This was Geraints first major concert with the band since taking over in October 2009. The band has been rejuvenated during this period and have a filling diary of events in 2010.
