It’s a fresh start to the second decade of the millennium for Dalewool Auckland Brass.

Appointment

After auditioning candidates selected from a number of high calibre applicants, the band has announced the appointment of Rupert D’Cruze as their new professional musical director.

He was awarded the Philharmonia Conducting Prize at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 1987 and was finalist and prize-winner in the Tokyo International Conducting Competition 1991 and second prize winner in the Hungarian International Conducting Competition 1992.

He moved to New Zealand in 2006 and is a highly sought after conductor in New Zealand having guest conducted many leading Auckland musical groups.

Rupert has been employed by the University of Waikato Music Department as tutor to its brass students and brass chamber group.

With Rupert D’Cruze as professional musical director this is the start of an exceptional new era for Dalewool Auckland BrassDalewool Auckland Brass
