Percussion star Dave Danford is putting the final touches to his preparation ahead of him performing the world premiere of ‘Emoticons of Time’, with the Welsh Sinfonia Orchestra conducted by Mark Eager.

Spirit of Dance

The premiere will form part of the 'Spirit of the Dance' series and will see Dave perform the concerto written by Eilir Owen Griffiths.

The composer is well known in Wales for his compositions for choirs, which have won him awards at the Eisteddfod, and in the world of music theatre.

The piece is based on moments in his regular commute between Cardiff, where he lives, to Carmarthen, where he is a Lecturer at Trinity College4BR

Dave has worked with the composer before, though this is the first time it will have been in a chamber orchestral framework.
