The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith 2)Band has announced the appointment of Dewi Griffiths as their new new Resident Conductor.

Welsh Area debut

Dewi is currently the principal cornet of Tredegar Town and works as a peripatetic music teacher in the area. His primary role will be to conduct the organisation’s new development band, Melingriffith 2, which will compete in Section 4 of the Welsh Regional contest in just a few weeks time.

Band Chairman, Dave Howard told 4BR: "We’re very fortunate to have such a talented and experienced musician as Dewi joining us. He has very little time to prepare the new band for its first contest, but the first few rehearsals have gone extremely well and we’re confident the band will put on a great show."
