The Triangle Brass Band is thrilled to announce their collaboration with special guest, Allen Vizzutti, in an evening full of challenging and exciting repertoire. Please join us for “The Rising Sun” on Saturday, March 13, at 8pm in Raleigh’s Meymandi Concert Hall in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts (Home of the 2010 North American Brass Band Championships).
This will absolutely be the concert not to miss. In the twenty-three years the band has in existence, Allen Vizzutti is simply one of the biggest names that the band has brought to Raleigh. Music Director, Tony Granados says, "The Triangle Brass Band is so honored and humbled to share the stage with one of the world's greatest trumpet players. There’s no doubt that Vizzutti's prowess on the trumpet will simply amaze the audience".
The concert offers something for everyone. Granados says, “A program of especially enjoyable listening is planned for the concert. You will hear world class overtures, standard brass band repertoire, marches, and some smooth melodies."
The Triangle Brass Band, playing in the Raleigh area since 1986, is a British style brass band comprised of the finest volunteer brass and percussion players from the greater Research Triangle Park area. Members of the band hold occupations such as physicians, lawyers, college faculty, and school band directors.

An extremely verstile artist, Vizzutti is accomplished in a multitude of musical genres. He has performed with a rainbow of artists and ensembles including Chick Corea, ‘Doc’ Severinsen, the NBC Tonight Show Band, the Airmen Of Note, the Army Blues and Army Symphony Orchestra, Chuck Mangione, Woody Herman, the New Tokyo Philharmonic, the Budapest Radio Orchestra, the Leipzig Wind Symphony.
Mr. Vizzutti is feautred on numerous solo jazz recordings such as “Trumpet Summit” and classical CDs such as “Vizzutti on Vizzutti” and the “The Emerald Concerto and Other Gems.” Almost equally as impressive, Vizzutti is also quite an educator.
As Artist in Residence, Allen has taught at the Eastman School of Music, the Banff Center for the Performing Arts, Kansas State University, Ohio State University, West Texas State University, the Skidmore Jazz Institute, and the Trompeten Akademie of Bremen Germany. He is currently ‘Artist In Residence’ at the University of Washington.
