Dalmellington to celebrate

The Dalmellington Band are set to celebrate a 65th birthday with two great events.

The Dalmellington Band are set to celebrate the 65th year of the Cecil Oughton Slow Melody Contest with two great events later this year.

Junior event

A Junior Band event will be held on Saturday 13th February, which will feature Alison Bonnar, principal euphonium with the Co-operative FuneralCare Band

Alison was also the former principal euphonium with the band and was the first woman to win the Senior Slow Melody event in 1997.

The top 4 junior prize winners will be invited to compete in the senior event the following weekDalmellington Band

The top 4 junior prize winners will be invited to compete in the senior event the following week, Saturday 20th.

This 65th Senior Band event will be adjudicated by Roger Webster and he will also appear as guest soloist in the evening concert.
