The young players of Newport Borough Band did themselves proud recently at the Greater Gwent Youth Band Festival at Cross Keys.

Less than a year

Secretary John Bray told 4BR: "It was the young performers debut after the band was started less than 12 months ago. Adjudicator, Richard Evans's comments about the band were constructive and very complementary and it has given tham all a huge boost for the year ahead."

John added: "This is surely down to hard work from the young players and skill and dedication from their Musical Director Kate James."
