Scherzo Brass have taken the opportunity to thank composer Arhur Butterworth for making a special trip to the Royal Northern Festival of Brass on the weekend to listen to their performance of his demanding 'Brass Quartet' composition.

The work was performed alongside 'Brass Quartet' by Roger Payne and 'Paganini' by Joseph Horovitz.

Liz Pope told 4BR: "The spotlight concert was a great success and there have been lots of sugestions of possible tours in the near future for us."

Next week Scherzo Brass begin their tour of the Channel Islands, where they will give concerts on Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney, as well as workshops in local schools.
