PLC helps Carrickfergus

Paul Lovatt-Cooper has been a busy lad — this time helping Third Carrickfergus with a bit of musical input for their debut CD.

Third Carrickfergus Band has announced the launch of their debut CD entitled 'On the Castle Green'.

New march

Under the musical direction of Des Graham, the easy listening CD has 18 tracks, including the premiere of the title track, 'On the Castle Green', the band’s new signature march.

This was commissioned by the band to commemorate their Golden Jubilee and was composed by Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

Golden Jubilee

The band was formed in 1958, as the 3rd Carrickfergus Boys' Brigade Band. After many years of dedication and hard work the band now also boasts Junior bands with around 50 members.

Efforts

Paul very kindly gave his time and efforts to work with the band in the rehearsal of the the new march giving a composer's insight to how it should be played after adding a few finishing touches during his travels to Carrickfergus.

Paul told 4BR: "After hearing the CD it reminds me of a fantastic weekend — and the march sounds great!"
