The second Lytham Brass Festival will be held at St. Cuthbert's Church in Lytham on Saturday April 17th.
Prizes
The adjudicator is Ian Brownbill and there are cash prizes in all age groups, with £100 first prizes for the Open Solo Slow Melody and the Open Quartet Competition, which has a special prize for an outstanding quartet aged 16 and under as well as a first and second prize for the class.
New class
We have also added a new class, an Open Solo, which can be accompanied. The day will end with an evening concert performed by Freckleton Brass Band.
Last year's festival proved a great success, with 8 quartets competing along with many soloists. The organisation by Sylvia Howard and her team received nothing but glowing praise from the competitors, and the new class was added after taking on board feedback from competitors last year.
Magnificent
The competition will be held in the magnificent St. Cuthbert's Church, Lytham and the adjacent Victory Hall will provide an assembly and warm up area. Refreshments will be on sale in the Victory Hall throughout the day at reasonable prices.
